Weekend calories have had a big impact on me previously. For me, the idea of banking a few calories for a more indulgent weekend is similar to not shopping midweek because I know that I’ll shop on the weekend.
Ideally, I’d be able to do both and save the amount of money I want to that month (similar to the idea of a weight goal).
If my lack of funds doesn’t allow both, it’s up to me to make the educated decision of what supports the goal and allows me to still live my life.
Where this concept can become problematic is when you have over spent/indulged on the weekend, and you start to restrict the following week to compensate to the point where it’s mentally impacting you.
If you feel you may have gone over what you initially budgeted, accept it, and get back to your normal routine. If you have a good saving routine in place you're still going to get where you need to get to.
That one weekend doesn’t make a shred of difference over the long term and if anything, makes you more human.
